After school project

In the area where the project is, are a lot of kids who are after school just wandering around in the streets, doing nothing. A lot of these kids have problems in school, with reading and writing. By providing them a place to come after school and offer help and more creative education then the Peruvian school system, we hope to give them a bigger and more creative view of live, and help them to have a better future.

You will assist in this project. There will be a maximum of 10 kids. At first they have to do their homework, but once that's finished you're free to organize different kind of workshops with the kids. This can be art, music, games, cooking, sports, environmental issues, history, reading,...

Also if you have ideas of your own, feel free to tell us and we'll see what we can organize. We want to give you a lot of input and freedom in the project.

We ask of you a commitment to the project, creative ideas and a basic level of Spanish. You don't have to be a professional but we prefer that you have some experience working with kids.

Duration of the project:

• You can participate in this project for one month or more. But the longer you can stay the better. The time is mutually agreed, you can come all year long.

Cost:

• The price is 950 Nuevos soles the first month, and from the second month 500 Nuevos soles. 

• This is for your housing and food, the price also includes administration costs and coordination during your stay in Peru. From the second month on you just pay your housing and food and coordinations.

• You can choose to stay in the guest house sharing with a Peruvian family and other volunteers or you can choose to stay with a host family. You will get three meals a day.

•You can choose a pick up from the airport or come on your own to Huancayo

The pick up will cost 250 soles. 

Included: 
• Person waiting for you in the airport
• Taxi to the hotel
• Overnight at the hotel (a bed in a dormitory with shared bathroom)
• Taxi to the bus station
• Bus to Huancayo
• Person waiting for you at the bus station in Huancayo. 

If you choose to travel on your own to Huancayo, someone will be picking you up at the bus station in Huancayo and will bring you to your homestay.

The pick up is paid directly to the person who picks you up. The rest you pay in Soles, the local currency, at arrival in Huancayo.
